Wizards Shocked in Overtime

by Chris Opfer, edited by Robert Mang

With 1.1 seconds remaining in last night’s contest against the Toronto Raptors, the Wizards looked to be in control. Washington had battled all night, seizing a three point lead with just over two seconds to play. An imminent win would leap frog the Wizards over the visiting Raptors for the third place playoff seed and a second win in a row would help erase any remaining ill effects of last week’s disastrous road trip. But Morris Peterson scooped up a loose ball and drained a flailing three point heave as time expired in regulation. Read more »
